Something inspired by my favorite Novel that I wanted to illustrate for a long time now. El-ahrairah from Watership Down, a book that never ceases to inspire and influence my work.
For those that don't know El-ahrairah is a very special character in rabbit history and folk lore often times depicted in stories told by the rabbit characters in the book. Here he is shown after giving up his ears, whiskers and tail to the Black Rabbit in an attempt to save his people. So, yeah. I'm pretty happy how this turned out, it's pretty stylized and kinda different from most of my work; some things where inspired by the animated movie and other WSD art I have come across while browsing. It was fun to experiment on this piece. Another one to add to my pile of color this if you ever find the time to! |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
